What is laser toning?

Laser Toning is a non-ablative treatment using Q-Switched Pastelle laser technology to help reduce uneven pigmentation and improve overall skin clarity. This gentle treatment can support the appearance of:

  • Melasma and hormonally triggered pigmentation
  • Post-acne discolouration
  • Sun damage and uneven tone
  • Enlarged pores and dullness

The Pastelle system allows us to perform a two-phase laser pass: one to target pigment clusters, and one to stimulate dermal collagen, supporting both clarity and texture, without downtime.

Benefits of laser toning.

  • May assist in reducing the appearance of melasma and post-acne marks
  • Evens skin tone and supports surface texture
  • Minimal discomfort and no downtime
  • Safe for most skin types with custom settings
  • Can be performed year-round with appropriate sun care

Our process.

  1. Skin Assessment & Patch Test
Our clinicians assess your pigmentation pattern, skin condition and suitability for laser toning.
  2. Laser Session with Pastelle
A handheld Q-Switched laser gently treats the skin in multiple passes. Treatment takes 20-30 minutes and is well tolerated.
  3. Aftercare and Ongoing Plan
There is no downtime. You may notice some warmth or temporary redness that resolves quickly. Most clients undergo a course of 6-10 treatments spaced weekly or fortnightly.

FAQs.

Is laser toning painful?

Not at all. Most clients feel a mild prickling or warmth as the laser passes. No numbing is needed.

Can I go back to work after treatment?

Yes. Laser toning is often called a “lunchtime laser” because there’s no visible peeling or recovery needed.

How soon will I see results?

Some clients see mild brightening after 1-2 sessions, but laser toning works gradually. A full course is recommended for optimal results, especially for melasma.

Is it safe for melasma-prone skin?

Yes, the Q-Switched Pastelle is considered one of the gentlest laser approaches for melasma, when performed with proper clinical assessment and care.
